The 2014 Cadillac campaign kicked of a slew of marketing videos using (mostly) one-walk shots. But this new “How To Dad” campaign from Cheerios brings it home. The excellent copy and active setting tell a familiar story. Moments in you identify with this Dad. Marketers beware, Cheerios doesn’t talk about how great their ingredients are, how sweet the new taste is, or how you will feel after you eat it. No.They celebrate something universal, and claim sponsorship of it. We all know the official cookie of milk is the Oreo. Now we know what the official cereal is of fatherhood. Eat up!
And just when you thought you had enough, Peanut Butter Cheerios brings you desert with some additional video shorts.
As a dad, sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don’t. The important part is that when your son is on a kids bouncy house that doubles as a water slide and he tells you to come and play with him… you do it. Here’s my son using me as a human sled.
You’re on your phone too much. Admit it. I am, my brother is, my friends are—but we can’t stop. Don’t miss out on life because you’re busy trying to capture it. This video and song, “Get Off The Phone Song”, captures what we see more and more every day.
In case you are wondering if you are a phone addict, here are 3 clues you’re on your mobile phone too much.
1. You’re on your phone too much if you’ve mastered the art of surfing the web while also talking on the phone. Some call this multitasking, you just call it “Leave me alone, can’t you see I’m on the phone”.
2. You’re on your phone too much if you return a phone call with a text. Why waste filling up the next 10 minutes with one phone call when you can have 10 text conversations with 10 different people during the same amount of time?
3. You’re a phone addict if you don’t have time to check your 99% full voice mail box because you’re on the phone too much.
After you watch this video on your mobile phone, put it down and walk away slowly.
