When you do something wrong, admit it. When you do something wrong, come clean. When you do something wrong look the person you did wrong square in the eyes and tell them you messed up. When you do something wrong that hurts someone, trust is not repaired quickly. Investments in a repair are critical and need to be from the heart. Don’t run from conflict. If you are called on the carpet for something you did wrong, then change your behavior so the person you hurt sees you have changed. Being forgiven is not a right you have, it’s a gift. Forgiveness is an expensive and costly gift, so do not accept it lightly. When you do something to break trust, there is pain in the breaking. When you trust in restoration, there is pain in the work to get there. Forgiveness is a hand extended, and it must be met with a hand of effort and determination.
Mattofact: Seek forgiveness with true ‘life-change’, attitude change, and a heart that desires restoration (work).
